patty Sherry says...Hi Jen, read your interview on Lori's blog and am now a twitter and facebook follower. I've just ordered your book on Amazon. Why was I so compelled to want to read it? Honestly, I the only sure reason is my overwhelming "gut" feeling of connecting and wanting to read it. I have always followed and trusted my intuition with all of my choices in life, and it has never steered me wrong, even when i got into some deep shit. I trust that.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it. Parts ofmy journey were gritty, but Iwas compelled to own up to the toughstuff, the bad decisions, as wellas the tale of resilience. I wouldlove to know what you think, andI'll look forward to chatting with youonline. Jen

Oops--I meant "That Writer Chick in SAN ANTONIO with the Dog."
;-)

Hey, Jen. I Iost your snai mail address. Anyone brave enough to send a total stranger her book ,deserves a cool goody bag in return. It's all packed, but the mailmain won't send it in care of "That Writer Chick in Austin with the Dog."
Your package awaits--please advise.

Think about it as your gift to others who suffer. You know, I have found writing my version of religion, the words in books, my salvation--a reminder that I'm not alone in my pain or worry. I'm sorry if I sound preachy, but if you finish, I'd love to know... I'll want an autographed copy. jen
Karen Reynolds says...Thank you for visiting my blog. I am humbled that you would take the time to read my often unorganized thoughts. You gave me a lift and maybe I can finish my book about our sons journey with a brain tumor.
With a grateful heart,
Karen

Sure, let's chat. I'm easy to reach via email.(I wasn't referring to you or G-ma Irene; Mom's side of the family actually comes up very little in the book. The mental illness is mostly me, and my other G-ma...)
Congraduations Jenny,
I will read your book as soon as I get one. I talked with your gramma Irene, today. She gave me your web site. She and I have been friends for 52 years. I have met you and your sister when you were little girls, also your Mom and Uncle Nick when they were little kids. She is very proud of you. Irene and I are a little bit on the crazy side but the mental illness statement is a puzzelment to me. It would be interesting to chat with you sometime, I too write.
Good Luck with the book.
Respectfully,
Ellie Stevenson 615-264-0823

Hi Honey, Grandma and I are sitting in the library in T-town and she is getting a little teary eyed...and proud of you. We have navigated your web site and Amazon and all...several times. I have dragged her to the internet, and she likes it. She said that she's ready to get a computer so she can keep up on your updates. She is so happy for you and bursting with pride. She loves you very much and can't wait to get her hands on the book. Love you.

Hi Jen,
Saw you fReado. My novel "Shades of Luz" is there too. I noticed you are finishing up at Bennington. I looked into them, but went to Pacific University MFA. If you are so inclined I'd be happy to have you guest blog on my Paper Cut http://jgpapercut.blogspot.com or if you'd prefer to do a Q and A we could do that instead.
Need to build a buzz for my book so if you wanted we could plug each other's books on our blogs. Up to you.

Musical Chairs by Jen Knox
Hello there,
My name is Simon Barrett, I am the senior editor for Blogger News Network www.bloggernews.net. We are a news and reviews site. Our readership is in the 500k - 600k per month range, and we are part of Google News, this means that out articles are indexed by Google within about 15 minutes of being published.
I wanted to touch base with you about a promotion service that we offer to authors. Blogger News has a very active reviews section, and we are committed to featuring up and coming authors. A great tool in marketing a book is to get it reviewed. With the Bowker company showing that something like 300,000 new titles were released in 2008 in the US alone it is becoming increasingly difficult to secure reviews on reputable sites. Kirkus Discoveries is likely the best known review site however a journey with them will lighten your wallet $550, and take 3-4 weeks!
The Blogger News review/interview package for promoting authors.
1) An in depth review 500-700 words featured on BNN
2) A live internet radio interview that is recorded.
3) A text wrap up of the interview that links to a recording of the audio.
The review and interview wrap up will both contain links to the Authors web sites and preferred retail links.
A recent example is
Review - http://www.bloggernews.net/120110
Interview - http://www.bloggernews.net/120254
We do have a $75 administration charge for this service.
Please let me know if you would be interested in talking more about BNN featuring your book. You can contact me at zzsimonb@gmail.com
Thanks
Simon Barrett

Hi Jen. Your mom told me your book is out. Congrats! I am proud of you. I will buy the book when it comes to amazon next week. Good Luck and keep them coming. ![]()
Hi...it's your mom in law! I sent an invite to Kandi because she cannot figure out how to be your friend on Myspace.

Hi, Jen! Thanks for sending the link. I've checked out the excerpt and reviews - your book sounds awesome! Make sure I get the info to buy a copy. I can't wait! This is so exciting and you must be happy and proud. I'm very proud of you, that's for sure.

Cool website. The book excerpt is great! I want to read more. Please let me know when the book is published.

So happy for you! I'm thrilled! Yes, let me know when I can get a copy.

I'm riddled with envy! Keep going. I expect to see you on the NY Times list before long...

REALLY LIKE THE LOOK OF THE SITE. The paper, while distressed around the edges, appears to be whole and resiliant. You have always been one of my favorites, I look forward to learning even more about you.

Can't wait to have a copy of this excellent book in my hands!!!

Jen is one of my favorite writers and I can't wait to receive this book. With her unique voice, Jen tells the poignant, yet raw, story of her journey to adulthood, living on the streets as a runaway and her ultimate struggle to establish her own identity as a woman who truly values herself. This is one of those books that lingers long after the last page...
